General Leather Care

Step 1: Clean

Remove dust, dirt, and debris using a soft brush or dry cloth. For heavier dirt, lightly dampen a cloth with water and gently wipe the surface. Allow leather to air dry completely before proceeding.

Step 2: Condition

Apply a quality leather conditioner using a clean cloth. Work the conditioner into the leather using small circular motions and allow it to absorb fully before buffing. Conditioning helps prevent drying, cracking, and premature wear.

Step 3: Protect

If desired, apply a leather protectant to help guard against moisture, stains, and daily wear. Always test any product on an inconspicuous area first.

Step 4: Store Properly

Store leather goods in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and humidity. Avoid plastic bags or sealed containers that can trap moisture.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather

Most Bucking 90 products are crafted from premium vegetable-tanned leather.

Vegetable-tanned leather is designed to age gracefully. Exposure to sunlight, handling, and daily use will naturally darken the leather and create a rich patina over time.

To maintain your leather:

  • Condition every 3–6 months, depending on use.
  • Keep away from prolonged moisture exposure.
  • Allow wet leather to air dry naturally.
  • Never use excessive heat, hair dryers, or direct sunlight to speed drying.
  • Expect scratches and marks to blend into the leather as it develops character.
