Custom Orders

Do you take custom requests?

Yes — in fact, that’s what we’re known for. Custom work is at the heart of Bucking 90 Leather Co. Whether you’re after a personalized belt, a set of chaps, or a one-of-a-kind design, we’ll work closely with you to bring your idea to life. Start your project through our Start a Custom Order page — fill out the form with your measurements, colours, tooling preferences, and design inspiration. From there, we’ll reach out to confirm every detail before production begins.

How long does a custom order take?

Every order is unique. Most belts and wallets take between 4-6 weeks to complete, while roughstock chaps and more complex designs can take 6-10 weeks. During peak rodeo season, production times may extend slightly, but we’ll always communicate accurate timelines up front.

Can I rush my order?

In certain cases, yes. We offer VIP Rush Options for tight deadlines such as rodeo awards, gifts, or event orders. Rush availability depends on our workload and material inventory. If you need your order completed by a specific date, contact us before placing your order and we’ll see what’s possible.

Can I make changes to my custom order after placing it?

Minor adjustments may be possible during the early design phase, but once production begins, we can’t make major changes. This is because materials are ordered and cut specifically for your build. Always double-check your design form and measurements before submitting your order — and if you’re unsure, contact us before confirming your final design.

Do you provide design mock-ups?

For complex projects like roughstock chaps or detailed tooled patterns, we can provide a digital sketch or layout to confirm general design elements. Exact colours and leather finishes may vary slightly due to the natural characteristics of the hide.

Products and Craftsmanship

What type of leather do you use?

We use premium full-grain leather and veg-tan leather, sourced primarily from North American tanneries. Each hide is selected for strength, character, and longevity. For roughstock chaps, we typically use 4–5 oz leather, while belts and wallets are built from 9–10 oz veg-tan leather for lasting durability.

We also offer smooth, roughout, and metallic finishes, depending on your style preference. Every hide is unique — the grain, colour, and natural markings are what make handcrafted leather special.

Will my product look exactly like the photos?

Each Bucking 90 Leather Co. piece is made by hand and finished one at a time, so there may be slight variations in colour, tooling depth, and texture. We believe that’s what makes every product one-of-a-kind — no two are ever identical. You’ll always receive a piece that matches your chosen design and reflects the same level of craftsmanship shown in our photos.

Do you offer personalization?

Yes! We can personalize most products with initials, brands, logos, or names. This can be stamped, tooled, or engraved into your design, depending on the item and style. If you’d like to add personalization, include it in your custom order form and we’ll confirm the details before starting your build.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes. Digital gift certificates are available year-round and can be purchased directly through our website. They never expire and can be used toward any in-stock or custom product.

Payment and Pricing

Do you require a deposit for custom work?

Yes. For custom orders, a 50% non-refundable deposit is typically required to begin production. This deposit secures your spot in our build schedule and covers initial materials and design preparation. The remaining balance is due before the item ships. Full details will be included in your custom order confirmation email.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards, Shopify Payments, and other secure online payment options. All prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD). If you’re purchasing from outside Canada, your card provider will automatically handle the currency conversion at checkout.

Build Times & VIP Options

How long will my order take?

Typical turnaround for belts, wallets, and small items is 4 to 6 weeks. Roughstock chaps and larger builds take 6 to 10 weeks. During peak rodeo season or holidays, wait times can extend slightly, but we’ll always give you a realistic completion estimate.

Do you offer VIP or rush service?

If waiting in line isn’t your style, we offer our Bucking 90 VIP Rush Service — perfect for those needing a custom piece in record time.

Cost: An additional 50% of the total order price will be added for this service.

Your project will begin immediately after the one currently in progress and will take top priority in our build schedule.

VIP Rush orders typically ship within 3–4 days of being placed, depending on materials and design complexity.

This option is ideal for last-minute gifts, award deadlines, or when you simply don’t want to wait to get your hands on your custom Bucking 90 piece.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do orders ship from?

All orders ship from Alberta, Canada. We use trusted carriers such as Canada Post, UPS, and FedEx, and every order includes tracking once shipped.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide. International buyers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees applied by their country. Delivery times vary depending on customs processing.

Can I pick up my order locally?

Yes. Local pickup is available by appointment. Contact us once your order is complete to arrange pickup.

Returns, Exchanges & Repairs

Can I return or exchange a custom item?

Custom and personalized orders are final sale. Each piece is built to your exact specifications, so we can’t accept returns or exchanges once production begins. If an issue arises due to craftsmanship, we’ll repair or replace the item.

What if my item arrives damaged?

Contact us within seven (7) days of delivery with photos and a description of the problem. If the issue is a result of shipping or workmanship, we’ll arrange repair or replacement at no cost.

Do you offer repairs or warranties?

Yes. We provide a six-month craftsmanship warranty covering stitching, hardware, and construction under normal use. After that period, or for regular wear and tear, we offer paid repair and restoration services. Send us photos, and we’ll quote a fair repair rate and timeline.

Sponsorships & Partnerships

Do you work with rodeo associations or athletes?

Yes. We proudly sponsor and partner with rodeo athletes, stock contractors, and events across Canada. We create award belts, custom gear, and collaborations that highlight the rodeo community. If you’d like to partner with us, email bucking90.leatherco@gmail.com with your proposal.

Can I become a Bucking 90 Athlete?

We sponsor a select team of athletes each season who represent the Bucking 90 Leather Co. name inside and outside the arena. Applications typically open before the rodeo season. Follow our social media for announcements or reach out for details.
